Fic Year In Review Meme

January 12 - Moonlight Thunder (Lu Han/Minseok) - My Deerofdawn fic. I'm very bad at writing ~rival~ Xiuhan, but I'm okay with that.
January 12 (to February 4) - A World Like None That You've Ever Known (Lu Han/Minseok) - My 2015 NaNo. I'm very proud of myself for finishing this because it had a bigger cast of characters and more action than I'm comfortable writing. Despite the struggle, I had a lot of fun writing it. (Mmm, delicious angst.)
January 16 - For You (Lu Han/Minseok) - cheesy Xiuhan porn, whee
January 17 - Play Nice (Lu Han/Minseok) - I stared at this NSFW fanart for too long and somehow fic. >.>
March 29 - Fantasy (Lu Han/Minseok) - Silly little Xiuhan porn thing.
April 12 - Furlough (Lu Han/Minseok/Yixing) - For Seokmonsters. I wanted to write a slice-of-lifeish scifi thing with aliens and whatnot, and...somehow there was tentacle porn, but hey, still a slice-of-lifeish scifi thing. >.>
April 20 - Good (Good) (Lu Han/Minseok) - For Lu Han's birthday, I guess? Curse him and his fingers.
June 13 - Interlude (Lu Han/Minseok) - Lu Han looked nice. I wrote porn. As you do.
July 2 - Hold Me (Kyungsoo/Baekhyun) - Look, I wrote something that isn't Xiuhan! XD Magical bondage Baeksoo for Kinkfest. Someday maybe I'll finish the other parts of this fic...
July 18 - Give and Take (Minseok/Kris, Lu Han, Baekhyun and Kyungsoo) - Technically this fic might not be finished, but it's self-contained parts, so that's okay. I'm not sure how this happened, but basically Minseok.
September 4 - Everybody Wins (Lu Han/Minseok) - I don't like genderswap except when I occasionally do. >.> I've written way too much porn and variety is nice.
August 2 - September 15 - Stranger (Lu Han/Minseok) - My first fic ever to break 70k and oh, I made my life difficult with this one. It was supposed to be for Luminations, but it took me way too long, oops. I challenged myself with this and I'm proud of myself for surviving it and very happy with the response. <3
Plus twelve drabbles for the Xiuhan Daily Drabble Challenge and five miscellaneous drabbles here.
Total number of fics: 12 fics and 17 drabbles (and also some secret drabbles)
Total word count: 186,452 (plus the drabbles)
Longest posted fic: Stranger, at 71,761 words (which also makes it my longest fic ever)
Percentage of fics started and completed in 2015: Hahahaha, don't even ask.
Characters (posted fic only):
• Most common narrator: Lu Han (6), closely followed by Minseok (5)
• Most common character: Minseok if you count the parts of Give and Take separately. Otherwise, Lu Han and Minseok are tied at 11.
• Most common pairing: I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count.
Favorite: It's a tough competition between my two longfics, but probably A World Like None That You've Ever Known.
Most popular: Stranger is quite possibly my most popular fic ever, though it's a bit hard to tell with the shift from posting on LJ to AO3.
Most underappreciated by the universe: I guess Hold Me, my kinkfest Baeksoo, but nothing really stood out as underappreciated this year.
Most fun to write: Moonlight Thunder, because snarkily making Lu Han's life hard is my favorite pastime.
“Holy crap that’s wrong even for you”: Probably the alien threesome with tentacles and other weirdness, though I think it's not actually that weird in the grand scheme of alien sex. XD;;
Hardest to write: Definitely Stranger. Suspense plots are a huge struggle for me, and it was also tough to do a slow build of the general plot and the romance without (I hope) getting boring, and just to figure out all the pesky details.
Easiest to write: Any one of those short Xiuhan porn thingies.
The story that made you cry: I don't think I actually cried, but I made myself pretty sad with some parts of A World Like None That You've Ever Known.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?: I challenged myself with the suspense/mystery aspect of Stranger and also just writing an actually novel length fic. I learned that I like to make my life difficult. XD But also that usually I can meet challenges if I set my mind to it and have nice friends to help me when I get stuck.
Do you have any writing goals for the new year?: I have one longfic project I'd really like to tackle next year. My long-term goal is also to finally be brave enough to tackle original fic in earnest, which I may end up doing with this idea depending on how things go.
