Fic Year In Review Meme
Dec. 31st, 2016 07:58 pm( List of Fic Posted This Year )
Total number of fics: 12 fics and 17 drabbles (and also some secret drabbles)
Total word count: 186,452 (plus the drabbles)
Longest posted fic: Stranger, at 71,761 words (which also makes it my longest fic ever)
Percentage of fics started and completed in 2015: Hahahaha, don't even ask.
Characters (posted fic only):
• Most common narrator: Lu Han (6), closely followed by Minseok (5)
• Most common character: Minseok if you count the parts of Give and Take separately. Otherwise, Lu Han and Minseok are tied at 11.
• Most common pairing: I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count.
Favorite: It's a tough competition between my two longfics, but probably A World Like None That You've Ever Known.
Most popular: Stranger is quite possibly my most popular fic ever, though it's a bit hard to tell with the shift from posting on LJ to AO3.
Most underappreciated by the universe: I guess Hold Me, my kinkfest Baeksoo, but nothing really stood out as underappreciated this year.
Most fun to write: Moonlight Thunder, because snarkily making Lu Han's life hard is my favorite pastime.
“Holy crap that’s wrong even for you”: Probably the alien threesome with tentacles and other weirdness, though I think it's not actually that weird in the grand scheme of alien sex. XD;;
Hardest to write: Definitely Stranger. Suspense plots are a huge struggle for me, and it was also tough to do a slow build of the general plot and the romance without (I hope) getting boring, and just to figure out all the pesky details.
Easiest to write: Any one of those short Xiuhan porn thingies.
The story that made you cry: I don't think I actually cried, but I made myself pretty sad with some parts of A World Like None That You've Ever Known.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?: I challenged myself with the suspense/mystery aspect of Stranger and also just writing an actually novel length fic. I learned that I like to make my life difficult. XD But also that usually I can meet challenges if I set my mind to it and have nice friends to help me when I get stuck.
Do you have any writing goals for the new year?: I have one longfic project I'd really like to tackle next year. My long-term goal is also to finally be brave enough to tackle original fic in earnest, which I may end up doing with this idea depending on how things go.
